Fazer bakeries from Finland has recently implemented the Distrib Pick to Light solution in their bakery and distribution site in Kaunas, Lithuania.

Following the integration of order picking for Estonian deliveries in the bakery in Latvia (https://www.pcdata-logistics.com/portfolio/fazer-integrades-estonian-distribution-in-their-latvia-site-with-support-of-distrib-wms/), Fazer decided this year to implement the Distrib Pick to Light system in their facility in Kaunas, Lithuania. Until only recently, the order picking process was a manual, paper-based system but in order to enhance this operation, the Pick-to-Light solution was chosen to implement.

Due to Fazer’s long experience with these systems, and the ease of configuration, the customer decided to implement the system all by themselves. Pcdata engineers were only involved remotely to make some minor configuration changes to make the standard software suitable for the specific Lithuanian requirements. The customer installed all hardware themselves, configured the main system components and tested the system without any further (onsite) Pcdata support. Following a decent test-cycle and some small adjustments to the configuration, the system was successfully taken into operation late 2017.

Following this implementation, all Fazer’s deliveries in the Baltic states are now handled via Pcdata’s Distrib Put- and Pick to Light solution.
